In my town, they pass around a double-sided form that states that “By signing this form you are giving up your constitutional rights” and then show you a movie that explains this. It tells you that there are no other options than what is presented.

Of course, everyone in the room signed.

It is a sad spectacle indeed.

First off, I was the only one who wanted to go in front of the judge (administrator). Everyone (about 8 people) else took the reduced fine, paid it and walked off…Without questioning the legitimacy of the whole thing! In fact, I was eves dropping and most people didn’t even know what a no contest plea was…

To top it off, I was asked 6 different times by the clerk and judge if I was sure I just didn’t want to pay the reduced fine…The lady was appalled by my persistence to speak my case and see the judge, like I was out of my mind.

Obviously, people are totally unaware to the amount of indirect taxation that occurs. And as you’ve stated, they will pay for it and SAY NOTHING! We have to work for over 20 YEARS before we have paid all of our taxes…and they are all indirect, unapportioned taxes. The first 225 working days of the year go to taxes!
